Regional radio back on track…

It was early 1990 and I joined a regional radio station, Radio Némo. The studios, based opposite the Maison Carrée in Nîmes, were magnificent. The journalists were Agence France Presse correspondents, and football matches were broadcast from the Nîmes Olympique stadium. Némo was a powerful radio station, broadcasting a musical and news format that was highly innovative for its time. The presenters around me were talented. The station quickly became the leader in the Gard region. But at the end of 1990, Némo took its turn relaying nightly broadcasts from a radio station in the capital. I realised then that my future lay in Paris, in national radio. But before that, in 1991, I spent a year in the United States.
